A theme will be set every 20 days for you as a photographer to go out and cover using your own creativity. There will be a different Judge every challenge to decide the top photo. Only one shot can be submitted per theme. The winner will pick the next theme and photo will be placed as the group icon.
“1984 Newhouse Military Photographers” is a new small book which has a few portraits of students in that class, 25 years ago. It was recently put together by Rayburn Beale, who was a grad student at that time, and friend of many of the MPJ students.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Broadcast Media & Technology Center plans, coordinates and administers the production and contracting of television work for the Department and its agencies. Also, it operates a central audio and videoconferencing facility for the Department, an internal USDA television broadcasting network as well as a multimedia production and content delivery facility. In addition, the Center oversees a television and radio news service, which provides news to broadcast stations and syndicated broadcasters nationwide via the airwaves, a dial-up service and the Internet. The Center works cooperatively with other divisions of the office of Communications and the agencies and offices of the Department. It also works with the White House, other Departments and agencies at the Federal, State, or local level.
Incumbent serves as a productions assistant, assisting project managers, directors and producers in the production of video programs, television stories and multimedia/new media projects.
A Bachelors of Arts degree specializing in communications, film, television or New Media is desirable. Work also demands knowledge of theory and application of production techniques, knowledge of audio visual production from inception to completion, basic edition on NLE systems and some skill in HD format cameras and their operation as well as lighting for video.

The casket of Skip Ivins arrives by motorcycle at First Baptist Church of Upper Marlboro, MD on Friday, the 19th of June. He passed away earlier in the week after a long battle with cancer. Over 200 friends, family and co-workers gathered to pay their final respects. (Photo by Ken Hammond)

Church services will be held at First Baptist Church of Upper Marlboro, MD on Friday, the 19th of June starting at 11:00 a.m. There will be a gathering after the services at the church where food will be served. All are welcome. The address is 7415 S Crain Highway (U.S. Highway 301), Upper Marlboro MD 20772.
Skip will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery at some future time. There is a backlog right now so we were not able to have the burial on the same date as the church services.
In order to help families that are traveling the same journey with cancer that Skip and I have traveled, we have set up a special fund to have donations sent in lieu of flowers. There will be military pall bearers at the funeral services and we encourage all military members to wear their Service Dress/Class A uniforms.
