Gallery Submissions
There's no charge for displaying your work in my gallery.... this is a service I'm providing to Military PJ's and Photographers. I graduated from SU in the Military PJ Class of 1978 and I just want to continue to promote the Military PJ. All I ask is for you to pay is the postage to send your images to me if they come by snail mail.

I try to post new shows monthly provided I get submissions and are booked ahead for planning purposes. Check for me for the availability of the month you'd like to display by emailing me at:
jimpearson@mpjconnection.com

If you're a PJ and have the SEI I don't require an advance sampling of images, if not then I just ask that a photographer send me a selection of 7-10 images (mini portfolio) so I can look your images over.

Usually there's two types of shows... a portfolio or a theme type show where all the photos relate to a common theme.

As for requirements I'll need the following:
Theme show: Not more than 25 images
Portfolio: Not more than 25 images

An artist statement and 1 good image of yourself in action or otherwise.

I'll need caption information from the photographers standpoint on each photograph. In other words, don't just talk about what's happening in the photo, but also what you as a photographer feels about the photo. I haven't asked for this too much in the past, but more viewers are asking for it, so now I am. I also require a photo of yourself, an artist statement and a eMail address, if you want I can also provide contact information also, IE: Your mailing address, phone number and so forth.

If you want to scan your images yourself that's great (I work full time for a newspaper and also shoot stock), but it's not required as I have the equipment to do so. However if I'm going to scan the images then I'll need them at least 4 weeks before the shows scheduled to start otherwise, I'll need them 3 weeks before the show start date.

Your stuff will be shipped back to you via first class mail unless you provide postage for some other method (IE Val Gempis provided a FedX number).

Also, I assume no responsibility for loss or damage to images in the mail, but be aware I will take all precautions in packing and labeling to insure safe arrival. As a professional for over 28 yrs I treat other peoples work like my own.

Sizes should be:

Horz images: 450ppi wide @ 100ppi res
Vert Images: 450ppi wide @ 100ppi res

Save images as JEPG files with Max Image Quality in RGB Format
Captions, show information, Artist Statement can be in any word-processing program

You can send me the images on: 100mb Zip disk, CD ROM, floppy disk, or film.

Any questions let me know or if you want to talk I can be reached at: 1-270-821-4066 or 1-800-726-6397(ext 3229) (W-Sat after 12 noon central time).
