Eddy Van Wessel's photojournalism gets close and personal--perhaps too personal for print, but not too personal for the web--when he photographs soldiers, snipers, victims and refugees of the Baltic conflict as well as other hot spots like Chechnya and Iraq. Download is slow, but well worth the wait.

ezphotos.net
What sounds like yet another "photo.com" site is, in fact, a site belonging to Ernest J. Zarate, whose book "At The Beach" was recently published. The work is street savvy with a touch of irony, filled with open compositions and a sense that the beach experienced here is uniquely American.

Fred Stein Photography
Fred Stein's photographs capture powerful images of the struggle and beauty of human life - images that transcend the cultural moment: the romance of street life in 1930's Paris; the energy of New York during and just after World War II; and hundreds of compelling portraits of the most brilliant minds of the time.

These were artist, dreamers, technicians, scientist but most of all visionaries. Without their struggle, without their intent there may not have been photography. These are the people of our photography Hall of Fame.
