Two years ago I saw a dance competition on TV and was impressed by the speed, the coordination, the energy and fitness of the dance couples. When one of the competitions came to the DC area last November, I jumped on the chance to shoot it, mainly for portfolio use. There were, however, a large number of military spectators in the crowd.

The lighting in the place was nothing like what I had seen on TV (Spotlights, gelled lights, laser effects...). Here it was just fluorescent overhead lighting. Shot Fuji SuperG 800, every shot, every lens set at F2.8.
