A single engine plane on a training flight came to an awkward stop on its nose on Pearl Harbor's historic Ford Island - the island's inactive air traffic control tower stands to the right. Aviator Amelia Earhart also made a crash landing on Ford Island during her unsuccessful around-the-world flight attempt.
